My comments were brought up by hosts around the 48:50 time mark on this episode (#160), about duration of wear for butt plugs. My comments were from an article published in 2010 from Milwaukee’s Shepherd Express. You didn’t really discuss people’s motivations or interests in why they enjoy or engage in butt plug use. This is really a corollary to anal intercourse, rimming, prostate stimulation, both with or without condoms, and fisting or using really huge dildoes. This last September, I attended the Gay & Lesbian Medical Association’s meeting in New Orleans had a couple of presentations (far too few, I might add) on anal sex and medical issues associated with anal sex, but far more was UNKNOWN than was known. More surprisingly was what I thought was a remarkable lack of interest or curiosity in anything having to do with anal sex, including short and long term consequences, significance of pain, neuropathophysiology of anal sex and pleasure-pain.
